Privacy
AmIKnown is a mirror, not a surveillance tool. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect and what we do with it.
What we collect
The name you type (plus optional city and occupation), and — only if you buy a report — the email address you give Stripe at checkout, so we can send you the link. That's the full list. No accounts, no tracking profiles, no address books.
Where report content comes from
Reports are built only from publicly visible sources: the open web (via search), public platform pages, Wikipedia and similar public databases, and what AI models say when asked. We never buy data from data brokers or people-search services.
What we never include
Health, sexuality, religion, ethnicity and criminal allegations are excluded from reports even when they are publicly findable. If evidence suggests a subject is under 18, the scan stops and the payment is refunded.
Consent
You may scan yourself, or someone who has given you their permission. We rate-limit scans per name and flag accounts scanning many different people.
Retention and deletion
Report pages are private links — only people you share them with can see them. Every report has a delete button that permanently removes its content, and all reports expire automatically after 90 days. Collected evidence is purged when a report is deleted or expires.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
